Opening to the public for one night only, The Deck is being transformed into a stunning pop-up restaurant for Valentine’s Day, offering spectacular views of the twinkling lights of London for a romantic evening to be treasured.
The Deck, an ultra-cool city chic London venue, is an incredibly popular events space which is not usually open to the general public. It is located on the rooftop of the iconic National Theatre on London’s South Bank, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city skyline and River Thames. With its unique glass walls and modern cube structure, you feel as though you are out on deck when you are actually relaxing and drinking up the atmosphere in the warmth of its luxurious restaurant.
A special four-course set menu has been created by executive chef, Simon Flint and his team for the occasion, featuring a starter of home-smoked salmon over applewood coals with a soused cucumber and fennel salad, soured cream and vermouth and balsamic pearls. A trio of beef follows for the main course: pan-fried fillet of beef, cottage pie and beef wellington with pommes fondant, buttered greens and vichy heritage carrots, then a mouth-watering raspberry and dark chocolate dome for dessert, followed by a cheese board.
The vegetarian menu includes baby artichokes with nantaise salad, baked Dorstone goats cheese and beetroot relish, followed by a mushroom and chestnut wellington with caramelised leeks and vichy heritage carrots. A raspberry and dark chocolate dome for dessert and tantalising cheese board complete the dinner.
Guests will have the choice of two sittings, at either 5pm, perfect for dining duets wanting to eat before catching a London show, or 8pm when couples can settle in for their romantic evening. Ticket price is £75 per person for the four-course dinner and a welcome drink on arrival.
