Reflecting the growing importance of China as an event destination, the country’s National Tourist Office will be exhibiting at the international travel and "meetings":http://www.venues.org.uk/searches/london_meeting_rooms_venues.asp exhibition EIBTM for the first time.
China’s increased popularity among event and "meetings":http://www.venues.org.uk/searches/london_meeting_rooms_venues.asp organisers is being fuelled by the approaching 2008 summer Olympics, which the country will host.
But it’s not just China that will be taking a stand at EIBTM for the first time. Other Asian organisations will also make their exhibiting debuts at the show, including Vietnam Meeting and Incentive Club, the Nepal Incentive and Convention Association. Meanwhile, The Korea Tourist Organisation will be taking part this year, having last taken a stand in 2004, as well as the Hong Kong Tourist Association, which has increased its 2006 presence.
Commenting on the increased Asian presence at this year’s EIBTM, Mandy Torrens, exhibition director, commented: ¯The Asia Pacific section of EIBTM will this year be an essential reference for planners and buyers and provide an indepth overview of some of the world's more unusual destinations. We expect our Hosted Buyers and visitors to find some interesting and exciting products from growing and dynamic markets.˜
EIBTM 2007 will take place at The Fira Gran Via venue in Barcelona, Spain from 27 to 29 November.
