During their inaugural meeting of the new board at the International Festival for Business in Liverpool recently, EVCOM set out a plan to increase direct engagement with their members.
EVCOM chairman Dale Parmenter commented: “We had a really inspirational meeting. We outlined an exciting plan for the year, now we’re focused on delivering it. I strongly believe it’s about collaboration and working together. As part of our strategy we agreed that Board members would increase our direct engagement with members giving existing, new and potential members direct contact and engagement with Board members.”
Action groups will be charged with coordinating and delivering the new plans the association’s ambitious plan. The action groups are led by current board members with support from the wider membership and the secretariat team, pulling on the best talents in the industry.
The EVCOM action groups will consist of: Regulation & Government liaison; Training, Development & Education; Membership; Communication; Events & Awards and Commercial/Sponsorship.
Marco Forgione, EVCOM CEO, added: “We’ve made really superb progress since January. The Board is really strong with broad representation from across the visual content and events industry. We’ve got a very compelling strategy that is clearly focused on making members more successful across a wide range of key activities, from supporting professional development, promoting the value of the sector, proactively engaging our broad community, building business opportunities and engaging with leading organisations in allied professsions.
It’s certainly going to be a busy year.”
The recently rebranded EVCOM is an industry body created from eventia, representing the live event world, and IVCA, representing the visual communication sector. The association is comprised of a wide variety of leading professionals, agencies, freelancers, destinations, production companies and suppliers.
