The growth of Merseyside's conference industry sector has been demonstrated at the Event UK show, held at Birmingham venue the NEC.
Several Liverpool venues have been recently renovated and the Liverpool Convention Bureau has been busy showcasing them to the nation. Southport, Liverpool and New Brighton have all been refurbished and are seeking corporate clients to take advantage of their facilities.
The Echo Arena and BT Convention Centre was finished earlier this year after a £164 million renovation was finished in time to host the opening of Liverpool's time as European Capital of Culture. Similarly, a sum of around £40 million has improved the Southport Theatre and Convention Centre, which will offer a Ramada plaza hotel from October, while New Brighton's Floral Pavilion Theatre and Conference Centre has seen £12 million worth of redevelopment and will open to the public before Christmas.
Through an impressive array of Liverpool venues, the region is looking to build upon its £1 billion conference sector.
In other news, the Disney/Pixar film Finding Nemo will be performed on an ice rink in the Echo Arena, according to a report from liverpooldailypost.co.uk.
