The former BBC chief news correspondent, Kate Adie OBE, officially opened The Portland Spa Conference & Banqueting Centre during a spectacular launch evening in November.
Guests assembled in the venue’s stunning new restaurant to watch Adie unveil a commemorative plaque, ably assisted by The Portland Spa board of directors.
“The end result is phenomenal,” said Ian Denny of Opex International, who attended the opening. “I have experienced hundreds of venues across the globe during my career and I have to say that The Portland Spa team has created an exceptional and world class venue here on Portland.”
Meanwhile, Andrew Coupe, managing director of The Portland Spa, said: “It is tremendous to see 18 months of meticulous planning and preparation culminate in a truly spectacular evening. This evening gave our VIP’s a special opportunity to sample and taste our unique experience and facilities as we officially launch our World Class Conference & Banqueting Venue in the heart of Dorset’s World Heritage Coast, overlooking the 2012 Olympic sailing waters. Our £10 million investment and the work we have undertaken is making a significant contribution to the regeneration of Portland into a world-leading marine, leisure and business centre.”
This launch event is one of several that are expected to attract more than 500 VIP guests from across the UK.
