Fundraising event organiser Under the Posts has held another successful celebrity lunch at Church House Conference Centre.
At its most recent event, the special guest was Welsh comedian and singer Max Boyce, who is renowned for mixing his love of Rugby Union into his comedy. He entertained around 100 guests during the event which was organised to raise money for two charities supported by former Wales international Iestyn Thomas - Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre, and Tenovus cancer charity.
During the afternoon, which was compered by former hockey player Roger Dankin, guests enjoyed a three course meal created by Church House Conference Centre’s in-house award winning caterers Kudos. The first class menu included a homemade farmhouse terrine served with toasted rustic breads and pear and cider chutney, followed by slow cooked feather blade of beef in red wine, with creamed potato, onion tatin and spring cabbage. Lunch was followed by an outstanding stand-up comedy performance from Max and an auction of signed rugby memorabilia and tickets for future Under the Post events, as well as a silent auction. Proceeds from the event will be split between the charities.
General Manager of Church House Conference Centre Robin Parker says: “Under the Posts has held many successful charity lunches at Church House Conference Centre, and this was no different. It is a testament to Church House and the entire team that they keep returning to the venue for such prestigious events. Each event is a sell out and raises money for a wide variety of well deserving charities, and as such we are delighted to be associated with these events.”
