The Liverpool's BT Convention Centre has secured a spin-off event linked to a major games industry conference.
Organisers of the four-day annual Develop conference, which takes place in Brighton, have decided to hold a one-day event on November 5th.
The convention will run alongside the Liverpool Software City conference and follows the success of the main event earlier this month, which attracted more than 1,000 gaming industry professionals.
Event director Andy Lane said that the spin-off event was introduced to appeal to the many videogame developers based in the region.
"With such an active and vibrant development community north of Birmingham it just makes sense to take the Develop conference to Liverpool," he explained.
Mr Lane added that the region had "a long history of development excellence".
Liverpool was recently named as one of the world's best cities in which to hold a conference by events industry bible the International Congress and Convention Association.
