Novotel London West in Hammersmith reaped the benefits of its conscientious attitude and approach towards its people and the environment, when it picked up two awards at the prestigious Hotel Catey Awards 2007 recently – Human Resources Manager and Team of the Year and Green Hotel of the Year.
“We are delighted to have won both these awards, in particular the HR award for the HR team,” said Novotel London West’s human resource manager Helen Kalyan. “They have been the backbone of the hotel’s success, taking on additional responsibilities, creating new initiatives and exporting their enthusiasm to the rest of the hotel staff.”
The awards are recognition for the consistent hard work the hotel has put in over several years to improve customer service, reduce its negative effects on the environment, and provide a healthy work/life balance for employees, putting HR at the centre of its business strategy to achieve all three, while continuously improving business performance.
“This is a fantastic achievement for the hotel,” said general manager Michael Sloan. “We are delighted with these award wins which we add to the many others received over the past four years for customer services, human resources and environmental achievements. We are incredibly proud of them all and I personally am delighted for the wonderful team at Novotel London West, which continually demonstrates its enthusiasm, passion and commitment. These awards further strengthens the hotel’s position in the industry as a leader in CSR activity.”
The Hotel Catey Awards are designed to allow hoteliers to celebrate the achievements of their staff and give them industry-wide recognition.
