London has retained the top spot as the European city of choice for meetings and events in the American Express Meetings and Events 2015 Global Meetings Forecast.
Based on the activity of American Express Meetings & Events clients, the list of the top 10 European cities has remained quite stable and contains a list of familiar and traditionally popular meeting locations.
The top four cities are unchanged since last year’s forecast, with London coming in ahead of Paris, Barcelona and Amsterdam. The biggest change being Berlin's jump from seventh place to trade fifth postion with Brussels. Nice sits inbetween the two in sixth position and Rome, Frankfurt and Munich take seventh to tenth places respectively.
Barbara Jamison, head of European business development at London & Partners, commented: "London is a world-class destination for meetings, events and incentive travel and we are delighted that the city's events industry has been awarded this latest accolade.
“London's connectivity and ease of access was underlined by American Express Meetings & Events and this combined with the city's rich culture and heritage, its thriving tech, medical, creative and financial industries, and its wealth of fantastic venues, makes London an exciting proposition for meeting organisers.
“London is a city that people are excited to visit and eager to do business in and we welcome the opportunity to showcase this to event planners around the world at this week's EIBTM."
