A Merseyside conference centre has picked up a best practice award, with the judging panel hailing the refurbishment of the facility as "transformational".
The Floral Pavilion theatre and conference venue in New Brighton was recently renovated and construction group Kier North West along with its partners involved in the £11 million project scooped a prize for their work at the Northwest Regional Construction Awards.
Architect Ken Martin, Wirral Council, Bingham Davies and Neptune Developments shared the accolade for their contribution to the Floral Pavilion transformation, which the judging panel felt would "kick-start further regeneration".
"The award recognises the hard work of all the team involved, who ensured that the project was completed to the highest quality, on time and on budget," said Justin Williams, contracts manager at Kier North West.
In related news, the International Congress and Convention Association recently named Liverpool in its top 100 list of the world's best cities in which to hold a conference.
