Leicester Conferences at the University of Leicester recently celebrated their winning success at the Meetings and Incentive Travel National Industry Awards held in London on 23rd February 2009.
The University’s conference services received a bronze award for Best Value for Money Conference Venue and finalist recognition for Best Academic Venue.
The awards ceremony was made at a glittering evening gala dinner in Hammersmith, London and hosted by Jeremy Vine, presenter and broadcaster at the BBC.
Now in its 22nd year, the Meetings and Incentive Travel Awards are nationally recognised as the oldest and most prestigious awards of excellence within the meetings industry. It is the only awards programme where winners are decided by an independently audited democratic voting process.
The awards attract many entries from national and international organisations including Marriott Hotels, De Vere Venues, Warwick Conferences, Conference Aston and Keele Conferences.
Trevor Miller, Sales and Marketing Manager, Leicester Conferences said: “The conference team at the University are sincerely grateful to all our customers who voted for us and offered their support to help us accomplish our success. It’s a fantastic achievement for us to be nationally recognised as one of the best academic venues also being able to offer value for money. The team at the University works very hard to continually deliver an excellent service. We are very delighted that especially in the current economic climate our customers have recognised us alongside big industry names as a venue that meets their needs.”
