Novotel London West in Hammersmith, London, won best HR Strategy to Support Environmental Excellence and was highly commended in the Best Leadership Driving Change category in the recent World Business Green Business Awards.
The hotel, which has introduced a number of initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint, including recycling paper, glass, textiles and plastics, motion sensors to control the use of lighting, and ‘plan heat exchange’, where heat from hot water pipes is extracted used as energy for other purposes, picked up the Best HR strategy award beating off strong competition from Hewlett-Packard.
