London’s Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre (QEIICC), has been chosen to be the venue for the announcement of the Tour de France 2007 route following the news that London will be hosting the Grand Depart. This takes place outside France every three to four years and will take place in London on Friday, 6th July 2007, the details of which will be announced at a press conference at The QEIICC on Thursday, 9th February. The press conference will take place in The QEIICC’s Churchill and Pickwick Rooms and will be attended by Ken Livingstone and the national press, among others. “The announcement that London will host the Grand Depart for the 2007 Tour de France is extremely positive news for the city,” says QEIICC commercial director, Stephen Norcliffe. “For The QEIICC to be chosen as the venue to host the unveiling of the route of such a legendary international sporting event is both flattering and exciting.”
