Britain for Events 2010, the meeting and events industry’s self promotional campaign has secured major corporate support from football’s Premier League and Virgin Atlantic.
The high profile support underlines the campaign’s move to influence a wider audience on behalf of the meetings and events industry. The Premier League will back the campaign on behalf of its 20 member clubs, many of which have thriving events businesses, whilst Virgin Atlantic will use the campaign to underline its own meetings and events credentials.
As part of the agreement, the Premier League will promote meetings and events through its on line channels and will also produce a promotional advert that will be appear in across selected match day programme for the league. The advert will appear at a fixture during the month of October to coincide with the focal week of the campaign (18th – 25th October).
“This is a major coup for the campaign this year,” commented Simon Mills, Head of Business Visits & Events, VisitBritain. “We’re looking to reach as wide an audience as possible through the campaign and these high profile corporate supporters are invaluable.”
Mills is also confident that more profiled supporters will be signing up shortly, “We’re actively targeting corporate business that can increase the reach of the campaign and we’re on the cusp of announcing more high profile names over the next few weeks.”
