Leicester Conferences at the University of Leicester receive a silver Meetings and Incentive Travel National Industry Award.
The Leicester Conferences recently celebrated their winning success at the Meetings and Incentive Travel National Industry Awards 2011 held in London on 28th February 2011.
For a third successive year Leicester Conferences (the University’s conference services) was nominated for an award and managed to scoop silver in the category of ‘Best Value for Money Conference Venue’. Gold was awarded to Scarman (Warwick University’s management training centre); bronze to Keele University and the remaining finalist was Highgate House – a Sundial Venue.
The awards ceremony was made at a glittering evening gala dinner in Westminster, London and hosted by Kate Silverton, presenter and broadcast journalist at the BBC.
Now in its 24th year, the Meetings and Incentive Travel Awards are nationally recognised as the oldest and most prestigious awards of excellence within the meetings industry. It is the only awards programme where winners are decided by an independently audited democratic voting process where event organisers decide on their favourite venues.
The awards attract many entries from national and international organisations including Marriott Hotels, De Vere Venues, Warwick Conferences, Conference Aston and Imago (Loughborough University).
Trevor Miller, Conference Sales and Marketing Manager, Leicester Conferences comments: “The conference team at the University are sincerely grateful to all our customers who voted for us and offered their support to help us accomplish our success. It’s a fantastic achievement for us to be nationally recognised for a third year as a venue that consistently offers value for money. It is particularly rewarding to be rated among venues that have dedicated ‘year-round’ conference facilities, unlike Leicester where we use central campus facilities. The team at the University works very hard to continually deliver an excellent service and we are very delighted that especially in the current economic climate our customers have recognised us alongside big industry names as a venue that continues to meet their needs.”
