Sodexo Prestige Scotland will be providing the catering for the Walker Cup for the first time when it comes to the Balgownie Links at Royal Aberdeen Golf Club in September.
The 43rd Walker Cup Match sees the best American amateur golfers take on the leading non-professionals from Great Britain and Ireland on September 10 and 11.
The event is run by world golf’s governing body, The R&A. Sodexo Prestige provides exclusive catering for other R&A tournaments, including last year’s 150th Open Championship at St Andrews, the 2011 Open at Royal St George’s Golf Club in Sandwich, Kent, and the 2010 Senior’s Open, which is also part of the European Senior Tour, at Carnoustie.
Each day, Sodexo Prestige Scotland will be catering for up to 5,000 members of the public, as well as a gala dinner for 400, corporate hospitality for 200, members’ catering for 800, and a members’ event for 600 people.

For the past three years, the Prestige Scotland team, as part of the national Sodexo Prestige contract with The R&A for The Open Championship, has built very strong relationships with The R&A.
“This gives my team an excellent opportunity to use our diverse range of skills to deliver this exciting event. We will be using our pool of staff from Aberdeen Football Club to help deliver the event and, furthermore, we will be working with local suppliers to ensure we have the freshest seasonal produce available to show off the very best of Scotland's larder on this world wide stage."
The Sodexo Prestige Scotland team at Aberdeen Football Club will be boosted by an additional staff of up to 50 for the event.
Sodexo Prestige Scotland provides exclusive catering for a range of leading venues in Scotland, including Hampden Stadium, the Royal Botanic Garden Scotland, National Museums Scotland, Dundas and Glamis castles and Perth and Hamilton racecourses.
