The Vale Resort in Hensol, south Wales, is launching its own exclusive collection of spa products to enable clients to recreate the luxury of the Vale Spa experience in their own home.
Called the Maychang Halo range, the products feature a collection of indulgent treats, which are all hand-made using only natural ingredients with no artificial preservatives. Pure oils and butters are blended with selected high-grade essential oils to make the range, which is suitable for all skin types, even those which are typically deemed sensitive.
A number of the products use Welsh sea salt that was specifically sourced and included to reflect the Vale Resort’s Welsh location and heritage.
The scented products are all perfumed with the natural oils of floral ylang ylang, grapefruit, tangerine, cedarwood, patchouli and maychang, a combination which has been exclusively blended for the Vale Spa to encapsulate feelings of euphoria and happiness.
The product range includes an exotic bath and shower drench with aloe and fragrant oils, a bath soak that uses real lavender buds, a fizzy bath sherbert and a silky skin scrub, both of which use Welsh sea salt and fragrant oils. The range also includes a nourishing lip balm.
Claire Caddick, leisure and spa manager at the Vale Resort, said: “Listening to our clients and what they enjoy most about their treatments, we decided to develop our own range of products using favoured fragrances to enable our customers to recreate a relaxing spa regime in the privacy of their own homes.
“We have worked closely with natural fragrance experts throughout the development process, personally testing and trying the fragrant creation as it has been progressed.
“I’m absolutely delighted with the finished products. They smell absolutely divine and almost good enough to eat! They have a warm citrus smell with undertones of the exotic. It’s elegant, light and ever so slightly oriental.
“We decided to call the range Maychang Halo as we wanted a name that would reflect the care and attention that we put into the product and also reflect the properties of the collection itself. Maychang (or Litsea Cubeba) is known as an oil of tranquillity, and is recognised to promote physical and mental calm, while ‘halo’ has connotations of being surrounded. In essence, it’s about enveloping yourself in tranquillity which is what our product range is all about.”
The Vale Resort has even developed a luxury exfoliating treatment using the Maychang Halo oil and body scrub in its spa. The Maychang Halo exfoliating drizzle massage will last an hour and will start with hot oil being drizzled on the body before the body scrub is massaged in. The Maychang Halo oil will also form the basis of other spa treatments at the Vale Resort including the Indian head massage and hot stones treatments.
In order to develop the range, the Vale Resort teamed up with the award-winning Artisan Spa Company, which focuses on developing bespoke spa-based products that are handmade in Britain using only the finest ingredients.
Amanda Nelson, managing director at the Artisan Spa Company, said: “We were delighted when the Vale Resort approached us to work with them to develop this unique range of products.
“We’re an innovative, award-winning company, just like the Vale Resort, and we both feel strongly about using only the best ingredients to develop products that are hydrating, balancing, nourishing and gentle on the skin.
“The Maychang Halo range is absolutely exquisite. It smells glorious and just dissolves away on the skin. Importantly, it’s not going to irritate as it doesn’t contain any synthetic fragrances, chemical enhancers, colourants, parabens or alcohol. It’s natural goodness – pure and simple.
“All of the products are fabulous, but I especially love the silky skin scrub as it contains butters which melt into the skin as they start to warm.”
