A recent survey carried out by Conference Cambridge found that the availability of the latest meetings technology is one of the most important factors when people choose a venue for a conference or corporate event.
Video-conferencing, podcasting, webcasting and audience participation systems were highlighted as important components of a successful event. Ninety seven per cent of those surveyed said that technology would increasingly play a key part in future events.
The group conducted the research at the first event in its Opendoors series, which focused on different ways to enhance a conference or meeting and reach a wider audience using the latest technology. Keynote speaker at the event was events guru Richard John.
Kelly Walsh, office manager, conference Cambridge, said: “New technology is definitely changing the way we run conferences and events. Traditional presentations are being replaced by podcasting and video-streaming and memory sticks are offering a greener alternative take-away literature.”
