Whittlebury Hall Hotel has donated more than 150 televisions to local good causes, after the recent refurbishment to its 211 bedrooms.
The Towcester hotel opted to give away the televisions, following their replacement with updated LCD flat screen models, as a part of their commitment to recycling and waste reduction.
Chosen organisations have included several schools, local to the hotel, who will benefit from using the televisions as classroom teaching aids, nursing and residential homes and many Northampton-based charities.
Mark Jones, general manager at Whittlebury Hall, commented: “At Whittlebury we are really keen to recycle wherever possible and as we had so many spare televisions in good working order, we thought it would be a shame for them to go to waste.”
