Stamford Bridge’s music venue, Under the Bridge, is celebrating after securing Platinum grading and a National Loo of the Year accolade for its luxury toilets in the Loo of the Year Awards 2012.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Loo Awards, held in conjunction with the British Toilet Association. Honouring the highest possible standards in public lavatories, venues are judged during an unannounced inspection on their decor, maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, added enhancements and signage.
Under the Bridge, which has hosted 17 platinum selling artists, is now home to two Platinum gradings of its own in both the conferencing and banqueting and nightclub categories. In addition to this Under the Bridge was named as National Loo of the Year in the hospitality sector.
Praised for its toilets’ stylish design, high spec, attention to detail and creativity, Under the Bridge was also highly commended for receiving the top grading in a first time entry to the awards. The venue represents the UK’s rock and roll history through a display of iconic, rare photography, which extends to the glamorous lavatories. The spacious facilities include mosaic murals of Annie Lennox and John Lennon, mini chandeliers, Molton Brown toiletries and fresh cut roses, all using a charcoal, black and cream colour palette.
Simon Hunter, Head of Venue and Brand at Chelsea FC, comments: “Our newest event venue, Under the Bridge is a unique space and our main goal was always to create the ultimate location for events, filming and private parties. We know that it’s often the little things, along with service and facilities, that makes a successful event. As such, we are delighted to have award winning amenities for our guests and delegates.”
The awards ceremony was held at the St John’s Hotel in Solihull on Friday 7 December.
